Grief Over the past 12 months, Phil and I have lost three grandparents. In April of 2025, we lost Sandy Barber, my maternal grandmother. In March of 2026, we lost Bob Barber, my maternal grandfather. In April of 2026, we lost Joe Querfeld, Phil's paternal grandfather. Bob and Sandy were missionaries in Scotland and in Eastern Europe for over 40 years with BCM International. I will be going to Thailand to serve with a team at a Soul Care Retreat for our missionaries from Myanmar (more on this later!) Lord willing, I will be going to Bangkok, Thailand from about May 9th to May 17th. (The retreat is from the 11th to the 15th, but the 30 hours of travel there and back extends the trip a bit.) One of the biggest blessings of being part of God's kingdom is the fact that we don't have to do life alone. This past month has involved a lot of recruiting for ministry (in one case, recruiting for BCM as a whole, and in the other recruiting for the curriculum project.)
